For maximum adhesion and long-term performance, proper installation matters.
Install when the board temperature is between 70F and 100F
After installation, keep the board at this temperature for 72 hours before exposure to water
During this curing period, the 3M adhesive bonds significantly more strongly than if the pad is applied and surfed immediately.
If you live in a colder climate (such as the UK, New Jersey during winter, or anywhere ambient temperatures are below 70F):
Gently warm the board with a hair dryer during installation
Bring the board indoors for the full 72-hour cure period
This simple step dramatically improves bond strength and long-term reliability.
